Our Objectives
Community Options
operations are guided not only by its Mission Statement and philosophies,
but also by a variety of stated objectives, policies, codes of behaviour,
and bylaws.
Objects
The Objects under which Community Options is incorporated are:
- To promote
Strong Families for a Strong Community.
- To maintain
a values-based organization and programs which serve the community
with integrity according to standards, policies and an Organizational
Code of Ethics.
- To maintain
and promote the Society's values-based model of governance, focusing
on responsibility and accountability to the community.
- To develop
and provide non-profit child and family services as needed in
the community through a model that strengthens and supports the
role of the family as primary caregiver for the child.
- To provide
a high standard of care for children.
- To serve
as a model program of the highest standards of group child care
in the City of Edmonton and the Province of Alberta.
- To provide
Inclusive Child Care, and sound educational and therapeutic programs
for preschool children with disabilities.
- To ensure
that all the Society's services address the intellectual, social,
emotional, and developmental needs of the child.
- To provide
options and advocacy to families seeking services for their children.
- To serve
as a resource to the child care community and the community at
large.
- To serve
as a resource for the educational community in the placement and
training of students in a variety of disciplines, including Early
Childhood Development, child and youth care, rehabilitation services,
social sciences and services, education and family studies.
