Rob Fragoso
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Rob has always had a strong desire to serve the community and began his journey in the nonprofit sector in Edmonton as a volunteer over 15 years ago when he moved from Toronto. Since then, he has taken on various fund development roles in addition to gaining experience managing diverse operational and strategic initiatives that include: marketing/branding, volunteer management, social enterprise, strategic partnerships, finance, HR, governance, IT, strategic planning, policy development, sponsorship, and varying forms of stakeholder engagement.

He is committed to making our great community even greater and believes it starts with empowered families and healthy, well-equipped children.

Rob enjoys staying physically active, taking long neighbourhood walks with his 8 year old daughter and 1 year old son, and occasionally over-indulging in (really) good ice-cream!

PROGRAMS TEAM

Kathy Rickett

Childcare Director

Kathy has worked in childcare for over 40 years. She is passionate about building relationships with children and families. She is a lifelong learner, keep abreast of the latest developmental research. She loves sharing her knowledge with the staff at the Early Learning Childcare Center, as well as the adult Early Childhood Educators she teaches at CDI College.

Marjorie Cooper

Community Preschool Education
 Program Director

Marjorie Cooper has worked in the Early Childhood field supporting children and families in different inclusive settings for over 48 years. As a leader she values communicating, working as a team player and enabling her staff to be the best that they can be. Marjorie also believes in giving back to the community and volunteers at different community events, is a member of the Kinette Club of Edmonton and is on the board of 124th Street Drop-In Association. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and taking trips to the mountains for some peaceful relaxation.

Andre Davis

Preschool & Out of School Care Director

Andre always knew he wanted to work with children. After attending College, he was fortunate to work at a non-profit childcare centre in his home province of Newfoundland. It dedicated to families who needed the extra help. He learned quickly that parents & the direct caregivers of children are the most influential people in their child’s life.  Andre joined Community Options’ Out of School Care and Preschool 14 years ago, after moving to Alberta. He feels fortunate to work for an organization that recognizes that early childhood education will have a positive impact on the emotional and cognitive growth of children.

Ryanna

Family Liaison Assistant

Ryanna has worked for Community Options for 4 years as our Family Liaison Assistant. She values helping families in the community and believes in working together. Ryanna likes to cook nutritious meals, spend time with her family, and travel to new places in her spare time.

Lori von Kalben

Human Resources Coordinator

Lori von Kalben has been working with Community Options since August of 2016.  She brings with her a background in social work and over 15 years of experience in Human Resource Management within various industries and specifically over 13 years in the not for profit sector.   She is passionate about working for an organization that gives back to the community and feels fortunate to be surrounded by people with such great team spirit! In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time with her amazing family, exploring the outdoors and new experiences with her husband and daughter.

Tatiana Shepel

Accounting Manager

Tatiana joined Community Options over 5 years ago and was instrumental in creating stronger financial processes to further enhance the stability of our already strong organization. 
She assisted with expanding our services in the community over the years to reach more families and works tirelessly to help stretch funding further.
Tatiana is a native of Russia, enjoys the outdoors, and prefers cooler weather!

Hayley Weedon

Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator

Hayley has worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years, with a passion for volunteer management, community engagement, event planning, fundraising and capacity building. Being involved and giving back to the community is important to Hayley, as she serves on the Inglewood Community Board as their Director of Programs & Social Events. In her spare time, Hayley enjoys spending time with her son Henry and partner Max and can be found rescuing the neighborhood strays when she's not snuggling her own two fur-babies, Chesney & Norris

Heidi Brett

Special Events Coordinator

Heidi Brett has been working with Community Options since October 2009. She works as an Occupational Therapist Assistant as well as an Event Coordinator. Heidi is passionate about working with children and families to support them on achieving their goals in a fun positive way. Her other interests include spending time in the outdoors – hiking, biking, running, skiing, snowshoeing, and spending time with her amazing children and grandson.
