This afterschool program is one of the best I've ever

seen! As a parent, grandparent and a family support

worker I am awed at the gentle kind expertise of the staff in this program. They offer an environment of safety, fun and learning.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

AT OUR CENTRE

Edmonton Northwest Out of School Care provides before school, lunchtime and after school care for children who attend Inglewood Elementary and other schools in the area. The Centre is licensed to serve 40 children from 5 to 12 years. 

Our staff are trained and certified through programs including child development and early childhood education and have First Aid. 

We give children a chance to make friends, learn about themselves and about the world around them. 

A recreational program with a "learning through play" approach:

Nutritious snacks and lunch top-up provided each day. 

Children with additional needs and developmental delays are welcome.

SCHOOL

DAY

Our Centre is open from Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM– 5:30 PM. There are no classes on Thursday afternoons for Inglewood School. Children begin at 11:57 AM (Group A) & 12:07 PM (Group B) on Thursday.
7:00-8:15 AM- Children arrive and can eat their own breakfast; free play with planned activities.
8:15 AM- Children clean up and prepare for school.
8:24-11:50 AM- (Group A) Children are in school.
8:33-11:50 AM- (Group B) Children are in school.
11:55 AM-12:30 PM- Children and staff eat lunch together. After lunch, children play outside with staff supervision.
12:30-3:20 PM- (Group A) Children are in school.
12:30-3:30 PM- (Group B) Children are in school.
3:30-5:30 PM– Children have a choice of indoor/outdoor play. Free play with planned activities is available. Children can have a snack anytime between 3:30 PM.

NON-SCHOOL

DAY

7:00–9:00 AM- Children arrive and can eat their own breakfast, free play with planned activities.

9:00-11:00 AM- Children have a choice of indoor/outdoor play with planned activities if they are at the Centre.

If a group activity/field trip is planned, children prepare for and take part in the event.

11:00-11:45 AM-  Outdoor play, weather permitting.

11:45-12:00 PM- Children clean up indoors.

12:00-12:30 PM– Children and staff eat lunch together.

12:30-1:30 PM– Outdoor play, weather permitting.

1:30-5:00 PM- Children have a choice of indoor/outdoor play with planned activities if they are at the Centre.

3:30-4:00 PM- Children can eat their own snack.

5:00-5:30 PM- Children are indoors/outdoors for free play and assist with the end of day clean up.
